Hot Morning Flow Morning Flow is a fusion of upbeat intermediate vinyasa flows and standing poses. A 50-minute class that is set to contemporary fun playlists. It will leave you sweaty, strong and flexible ready to take on the day!
Hot Vinyasa Flow
This is a motivated class that will help to develop skills for concentration, flexibility while deepening your strength within your practice. Hot Vinyasa Flow is a heated union of breath and movement. This intermediate class is fast paced and energizing. Take this class any time of day and be prepared to get sweaty!
Yin/Yang Yoga is a fusion class between a Hot Vinyasa Flow and Hot Yin series. The class combines 30 minutes of a heat-inducing Vinyasa Flow to build strength- followed by a 30-minute cooling Yin sequence to improve flexibility. The Vinyasa Flow segment combines a variation of sun salutations, chaturanga, standing and balancing postures. The Yin segment consists of longer holds and static stretching postures that allow for full release into the muscles. This class is suitable for beginner through advanced yoga students and will include a variety of modifications for each level.
Hot Yin (Candlelight)
Yin Yoga moves through a series of stretching postures that are held for longer periods of time to improve flexibility. Yin Yoga emphasizes longer holds in supported stretching postures to work on deeper connective tissues, including joints and ligaments, helping you to increase flexibility and find stillness in your practice. This class is suitable for beginner through advanced yoga students.
This class is designed for all levels and geared towards beginners or those wanting a gentler class. Set at a slower pace that focuses on breaking down sun salutations and fundamental poses. Props are used to aid in alignment and help ease into postures.
Mixed Level Flow
This class is the perfect blend of levels, linking breath to movement and often set to music. Moderately paced and appropriate for all levels. Modifications are given allowing students to work on their foundations or experiment with more advanced variations.
This intermediate yoga class will focus on improving our overall physical health, flexibility, and mental awareness. Asanas will be coordinated with the breath, and alignment with a wide variety of poses appropriate for all levels of students, yet challenging for the experienced.
Deep stretch is an active stretching class that focuses on primary muscle groups surrounding the hips, hamstrings and upper back. Slow paced and mindful, this class will help improve flexibility and increase mobility. Ideal for students of all levels and will aid those particularly tight or recovering from an injury.
Running + Yoga Friday nights
This class is the ultimate workout! It will start with a 1 to 5-mile run or walk. Runners meet up at Gretna Green and San Vicente at 7:00pm. With 40 minutes of total run time, come challenge yourself to beat the clock or relax and chat with friends and strangers. After the run, we will meet back at the studio for a condensed version of our yin-yang class. Instructor Whitney Davies will lead you through a 20-minute flow series followed by 20 minutes of deep stretching designed specifically for runners. Whether you are already a runner, yogi or just beginning, we welcome all levels. Whitney has been teaching yoga for 3+ years and running marathons for 10+ years! She has a degree in exercise science and her knowledge and enthusiasm for both yoga and running are contagious. Don’t be surprised if you leave ready to sign up for your first 5k or marathon. Come earn your weekend with us!
You will begin with breathwork and gentle movement and then be taken through a series of postures supported with the use of blocks, bolsters, and blankets. Here you’ll go deep into your breath and slowly release stress and tension in your mind and muscles eventually moving into a restful meditation.
Restorative Yoga and Meditation
Restorative Yoga Nidra Meditation is a blend of Restorative Yoga poses and guided Meditation. Feel stress melt away with this ancient tool for healing and relaxation. Yoga Nidra is a guided Meditation that helps to lower anxiety, soothe the mind, and improve the quality of sleep.
Balance and Invert
This class will help you move deeper into your yoga practice, discover better balance, and create stronger inversions. After a short warm up, step-by-step instructions will guide you through overcoming your fears in your balance and inversion poses. Learn how to incorporate balances and inversions into your studio practice and build into the poses that challenge you. Austin Hollingshead and your fellow Habitat Yogi’s will help support you in taking your practice to the next level!
Asana + Sit
Traditionally the physical practice of Yoga (ASANA) was intended as Meditation Prep. The first half of this class will focus your awareness inward using the breath and movement with yoga poses. The second half of class will turn inwards to meditation and quiet the mind. Orlee will expertly lead you through a meditation (SIT) practice that will in turn help to center and focus the mind, increase awareness, reduce stress and promote relaxation. This is the perfect class to balance your yoga practice and end your week.
Mommy and Me
Mommy and Me class will increase your child’s mobility and development while creating a fun environment to move, bond and play. Parents and Children will learn to use yoga postures as a tool for growth, health and happiness. We will play with traditional yoga postures, interactive yoga games, partner poses, and yoga sequences that will promote better focus, flexibility as well as build inner and outer strength. Partner and group exercises will help strengthen your child’s trust, social skills and emotional balance/well being. Mindfulness techniques and Yoga provides tools we use to develop mind-body strength with our children which is very important during this developmental stage. This class is suitable for children ages 2-6.
Yoga Sculpt uses a unique combination of Yoga and light weights to increase muscle endurance, and boost metabolism. It is an overall great workout for toning and sculpting every major muscle group in the body. This class will amp up your fitness as well as build and define lean muscle. It is sure to get your heart rate up and burn those calories!
