I was born and raised in Portland, OR. I moved to Los Angeles in 2011 to start my nursing career and get out of the rain! I have a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and Psychology with a minor in Chemistry. After working in physical therapy for about a year, I returned to school to get my nursing degree. I am currently a Registered Nurse working in the field of reproductive medicine and women’s health. I love all things health and am especially fond of running. I joined a marathon team in college and have been hooked on marathons ever since! I will be running my 15th marathon at the end of this month. I discovered yoga after enduring a running injury and immediately fell in love. It is the perfect combination between my love for exercise and my love for alternative health practice. I believe yoga has so many benefits beyond just the physical. In addition to core work, stretching and deep breathing, yoga provides a meditative space for those of us who cannot sit still to meditate. I also believe in the power of food as medicine and our ability to heal ourselves through healthy habits. After turning to yoga and a plant-based diet, I have stayed injury free through the thousands of miles I have logged. My goal as a teacher is to help others find both internal and external health so that they can truly enjoy life.
